Amy & Brett planned a classic, elegant manhattan wedding at a wonderful venue, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. I arrived early to scout the location for possible portraits in and outside the venue and was delighted to find that creatively there were lots of spots that appealed to me. One worry had been whether there would be time to do anything elsewhere but I found that we didn’t even need to venture further than the street to capture a healthy round of fun and creative portraits of this couple in their wedding attire! And of course for the family and wedding party pictures it made perfect sense to shoot in front of the lovely Chuppah and outside with the river in the background, particularly as the sun went down during cocktail hour this view became prettier and prettier. I was lucky enough to get to take the bride and groom out quickly for a few more shots both around sunset and again after dark once the lights were glittering across the Hudson. Highlights of this wedding included a fantastic ceremony performed by the wonderful Rabbi Uri Goren, and of course I am a big fan of Hank Lane’s Marcus Reid Band– they sure know how to rock a wedding reception! I am also pretty thrilled with the ring shot I came up with at this wedding– I’m always trying to do something creative and pretty with the rings and I love what I came up with here. I was so honored to shoot this lovely wedding and couldn’t be happier for this great couple! Congratulations, Amy & Brett!
