Estelle & Bo’s Intimate Central Park Wedding with Lunch Reception at Public

Estelle and Bo have been keeping their long distance relationship alive and well longer than most people could handle– and they’ve done so well at this that they’ve taken the next step and gotten married!  Since Estelle lives in Singapore (she has a great urban planning job there) we scheduled a 3-way Skype call for our consultation, which was different and fun for me (I’m something of a Skype novice, but we made it work!) though of course I love meeting with clients in person at my studio.  I could tell from Estelle’s description of her vision that this wedding would be super sweet and I’m so glad they booked me!  We began the day with some getting-ready coverage at the fabulous Chambers Hotel.  After a first look in front of it’s grand front door I took them for a round of couple portraits in the surrounding blocks, taking advantage of the “LOVE” sculpture and other neat opportunities along our walk up to Central Park.  Since they wanted to have an intimate wedding with their close friends it made sense to have a small ceremony at the Dene Shelter, after which we did some group shots with them and their friends and then all headed down to Public, where they’d reserved the Wine Room for a private lunch reception!  I was glad I had brought my fisheye lens as it enabled me to really capture the prettiness of the Dene Shelter with the sunlight splashing in through between it’s beams… Christopher Frost Shelley performed a touching and heartfelt ceremony for us an we were treated to a “Top 10 list” that had everyone laughing… A shout out to Nick is in order, he was super helpful in rolling my bag all over town while I stayed focused on shooting and he also got some great shots during the ceremony from different angles!  At the Wine Room I was impressed by the foodie-friendly details and excellent service– everything looked amazing from the scones to the cocktails to the entrees and the tablescape itself.  Estelle and Bo had thought of every detail– they even had a set of customized M&M’s to give their guests as favors.  I couldn’t be happier for this couple– if they can make it through the kind of long distance relationship they’ve been able to beautifully nurture to this point I think it’s safe to say they’re one of those meant-to-be couples that will make it no matter what!
