Ben & Tracey had one of the most unique weddings I’ve shot a few years ago up at Alder Manor in Yonkers. These two are so creative and fun– I knew they’d be amazing parents and was so thrilled to hear that they were indeed expecting! Some friends of theirs who knew me from the wedding went in on a gift certificate that would be good for a baby/family shoot and Ben & Tracey opted to wait til little July was smiling and sitting up rather than shooting her in the newborn stage– timing with the fall leaves was perfect and this was a great time for portraits! As you can see baby July had a nice range of posing options (she can sit up, hold her head up from ‘tummy time’ position, lay on her back, and of course be held by parents too!) We were able to incorporate not only the beautiful Chuppah that Tracey had knitted for their wedding but also a precious quilt she had made at the tender age of 12! At the end of the session we risked July getting a little cold for a minute so we could capture her in a cute outfit that says July (a sweet gift) and of coruse I was thrilled when she started putting her sweet little feet in her mouth– check it out! In any session where I’m focusing on a baby I also want to make those family portraits, as well as portraits of each parent with the baby. My hope is one day little July will look at these images and be able to feel just how much her parents loved her from the start!
