Emily & Adrian are a sweet australian couple that contacted me over a year ago when they were planning their destination wedding in New York’s Hudson River Valley. They were planning an intimate gathering with close family and friends over the course of a few days and had selected Buttermilk Falls Inn after having seen Katie & Sharmilan’s wedding there. When we arrived we had some time to scout the grounds and we picked out spots for portraits before heading in to shoot Emily’s preparation. Their first look was very sweet– poor Adrian was feeling a bit sick but you’d never know it from his enthusiasm and happiness throughout the day. Highlights for me included the wonderful ceremony performed by the fantastic Christopher Shelley, who nailed it, and a relaxed and leisurely intimate foodie-friendly cocktail hour and dinner that guests enjoyed over the course of the evening together. The icing on the cake? Er, cheese-cake, well, actually Cake Made Of CHEESE WHEELS (yes isn’t that brilliant?!) The icing on the cake had to be getting shots of Emily on the dance floor in her gorgeous swing-style kneelength wedding gown complete with petticoat… every time she spun around the skirt flared out in a fun way, and I loved capturing her joy out there. Adrian is one lucky groom! Check out my favorites from the day below…
