Cyprienne & Brian were married on a lovely Saturday in May up at Wave Hill, a gorgeous park in Riverdale, in the Bronx, with distant views of the Hudson River from it’s spot up on a hillside. We started with the tail end of their getting ready and a first look so as to jump right into portraits with the family before guests began to arrive, and I was able to make a handful of sweet couple portraits before we headed down to the ceremony site. At the conclusion of a beautiful ceremony officiated by Dr. Joseph Chuman of the Society for Ethical Culture, guests were prompted to release butterflies! It was lovely, though of course some were quicker to fly away than others! One of my favorite shots from the day is of Cyprienne with a butterfly resting on her shoulder during cocktail hour! Upon entering Wave Hill House, a mansion-like building housed by the Park, guests were ushered into a beautiful reception space complete with antique chandeleirs, stone floors, long banquet tables, and warm wooden ceilings. Cyprienne & Brian shared a beautiful first dance and were toasted by friends and family and even Mark Twain! You heard me right– Allan Kinney was on hand to deliver a speech in a completely white suit. It was unforgettable and unique, just like the rest of this wedding. By the end of the evening we’d captured a bunch of shenanigans in our photobooth, cigars and single malt scotch out on the patio, and an impromptu Horah on the dance floor. I couldn’t be happier for this wonderful couple– congratulations, Cyprienne & Brian!
