Abra & Mark began their relationship long distance, when Mark lived in California. Abra, being rooted on Long Island, was swept off her feet by his growing interest as they talked on the phone more and more, and he began to make plans to visit her, and began to talk of a move to New York so they could be together. For their wedding they planned an intimate and warm celebration of their comittment at Housing Works Bookstore, a wonderful nonprofit organization and an venue that happens to have some of the best catering I’ve eaten anywhere. Being a chilly november day, we did their portraits almost all indoors at the Mondrian before heading up the street to the bookstore. The sweetest moment for me was hearing a moving toast from Abra’s 3 sons, who clearly have grown quite fond of Mark and appreciate his presence in their lives. I couldn’t be happier for Abra & Mark– they so obviously delight one another (you should hear the way he makes her laugh, it’s fantastic!) and I loved seeing that joy and peace they seem to bring to each others’ lives. Congratulations to this fabulous couple!
