Tracy & Tim’s Wedding at The Roundhouse, Beacon

Tracy & Tim were married on a beautiful Saturday in late September at The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls, one of my favorite Hudson Valley venues.  These two grew up in the same neighborhood and went to the same school, and their love felt fated from the start.  For their engagement session we got shots of them around the Upper West Side where they both had sweet memories.  Their wedding was a get-away weekend at The Roundhouse, a wonderful boutique hotel, restaurant, and event space in the charming town of Beacon, NY.  I arrived early and started shooting with Tracy and her bridesmaids as they finished their hair and makeup, and my assistant photographer meanwhile captured Tim and his groomsmen in another room of the hotel.  For a private first look we brought hem to a lovely spot on the old shut-down tracks just across the street from the building, and then took a walk for some portraits in the scenic areas along the bank of the falls.  After a lovely Ketubah signing ceremony indoors with family and bridal party we captured their outdoor ceremony on the grounds under a Chuppah.  Tracy & Tim shared vows they’d written themselves and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.  After cheering for them as they walked back down the aisle arm in arm, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the lawn and patio area with a view of the waterfall before entering the main space for the reception.  Tim and Tracy have been taking a picture of their feet together whenever they go somewhere new since they’ve been a couple and so naturally they used some of their favorite feet-picture memories as table decoration and signifiers for the seating chart.  Highlights of the evening included some incredible toasts from their parents and Tracy’s brother, a mother-son dance that proved to be quite a crowd-pleaser, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the amazing set list played by the excellent band, Mixtape.  It was a delightful wedding through and through– congratulations to Tracy and Tim, I was so honored to be your photographer!

Jennifer & David’s country club wedding at The Village Club

Jennifer & David were married on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in September at The Village Club at Lake Success on Long Island, NY  I began the day shooting with Jennifer and her 11 bridesmaids as they got their hair and makeup done at the Garden City Hotel.  My assistant shooter, Ryan, was over in another room with the groom and his men while they were getting ready, and then we jetted over to the Club where Jennifer would put on her dress and the guys would get their bouttennieres on.  Jennifer looked incredible in her gown, and we knew David would be excited to see her as we set up for their first look. After some tearful moments upon seeing one another and exchanging thank-you’s for the morning’s gifts. we escorted them down to the shore of the lake for some portraits of just the two of them, and then met with their wedding party and families for group pictures just outside the venue.  Both David and Jennifer’s father are avid golfers, so they wanted to make sure we got some shots with the course in the background, and we were able to get a few moments with them out on a little bridge in the middle of a nearby hole. After a moving Ketubah signing ceremony upstairs with the Rabbi we went back outside for their ceremony on the deck behind the main reception space.  Guests were then treated to a cocktail hour on the patio and indoors as they liked, and then the evening got underway with a first dance from the couple followed by a lively Hora complete with the newlyweds ifted up over the crowd on chairs as their family and friends encircled them with loving energy.  As always, the Marcus Reid band was fantastic and they kept the energy flowing for the rest of this wonderful evening as friends and family celebrated with the happy couple.  Congratulations to Jennifer & David!

Amy & Anthony’s beach engagement portrait session in Greenwich, Connecticut

Amy & Anthony are getting married next August at Belle Haven Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, a place I’ve shot before and really loved.  I was excited when they said they wanted their engagement shoot in Greenwich too, as traditionally during the wedding day it’s tough to fit time in to take a couple over to a place like Tod’s Point, which is the location you will see them shot at here.  We had a gorgeous day, a beautiful sunset, and just the right amount of breeze in Amy’s hair.  All in all, a great shoot!  Check out my favorites from our walk around the beach, the shore, the yacht club, etc.  If you’re ever in Greenwich and looking for a nice place to spend some time, check out Tod’s Point!

Karina & Carl’s engagement portraits: LIC and Grand Central

Karina & Carl originally met at work years ago!  Karina caught Carl’s eye and he never forgot her even after her carreer took her elsewhere– when he spotted her on the street in Long Island City after many years they chatted and hit it off. The rest, as they say, is history.  For the engagement session we captured them in a few spots that were meaningful to them– Grand Central is right near where they work and they take the subway home together frequently.  Long Island City’s amazing waterside park provided some beautiful views and a place for us to capture them with a bike, Carl’s frequent mode of transporation. This couple couldn’t be sweeter and I’m so excited to capture their wedding at Linden Terrace and New Leaf Restaurant up at Fort Tryon Park this November.  Congratulations to Karina & Carl!

Chris & Lawrence’s Wedding at Harding’s NYC

Chris and Lawrence began their day uptown at The Carlyle Hotel where I met them to shoot the getting ready process.  Lawrence had gotten a miniature framed photo of his mother to attach to his boutenniere and he surprised Chris with a gift of his own similar memento.  Tears were flowing as it sunk in for these sweethearts that they were finally getting dressed for their wedding!  Before we left the room I suggested they get up and jump on the bed and it was just the trick to get out all the nerves– they even had an adorable pillow fight, what fun!  We grabbed some nice portraits in the beautiful lobby areas and I got a “paparazzi” style shot of them exiting the revolving door before heading over to Central Park for some more couple portraits.  We even got the opportunity to shoot some pictures that Chris had dreamed of– Lawrence is a dancer and Chris had hoped we might be able to have him dancing up on the half-shell stage upstairs from Bethesda Fountain.  We hopped in Michael’s car and made our way down to Harding’s, stopping for a shot with a view of the Flatiron building.  A crowd gathered and cheered the couple on, asking for pictures and congratulating them, it was really sweet.  Down at Harding’s everything was looking fantastic– exactly the rustic industrial garden-party flavor that these two had described wanting!  Highlights of the evening included a sweet ceremony officiated by their close friends, incredible toasts, and a few surprise song performances– Chris even serenated Lawrence in what turned into a singalong that left everyone smiling with tears in their eyes.  Congratulations to Chris & Lawrence, may your love last forever!  I was so honored to be your photographer!
