Gina & Jamie planned a beautiful September wedding at one of my favorite venues in the Hudson Valley, The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls. Gina had described her approach to the decor as ‘vintage with a touch of glam’ and sure enough everything was just that– from the charming tuxes and Gina’s fabulous shoes and earrings to match the deep green of her bridesmaids’ gowns, to the old suitcases and vintage family photos framed for guests to look at on welcome tables and the gold sequinned sweet-heart table cloth, and the colors couldn’t have bee more fitting for a rustic-industrial chic venue like The Roundhouse, which is a brilliantly converted factory building overlooking a waterfall… We hit the railroad tracks around the block for their portraits and I was thrilled with what we were able to get– there is nothing like these overgrown tracks as far as a setting for romantic portraits, I can’t get over this setting! Highlights of the ceremony included a sweet moment when Jamie had just put the ring on Gina’s finger and kissed her hand (gulp, so romantic!) spontaneously– and of course I loved the brilliant time capsule they prepared–a bottle of bubbly and some love letters to read on a future anniversary! The evening proceeded with great dancing and I was excited to see an actual ‘cheese cake’ (cheese wheels stacked and decorated with figs, etc!) for the groom’s cake. I concluded the night with a few portraits of the couple outside by the waterfall, which was the perfect ending to a beautiful day. Congratulations to Gina & Jamie!
