Could there be a better father’s day gift than a portrait session like this with your beautiful wife and baby boy? Zoe contacted me to do a shoot as a gift for her husband and I was thrilled to show up and see the in such cute coordinated outfits! We had perfect weather and enjoyed finding pretty spots in the park near where they live– we even found a perfect baby swing for little Gideon and I love the smiles and giggles I captured of him at this adorable stage of life. Check out my favorites from the shoot…
Sarah & Chris are getting married this August at the one of my favorite venues, The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls. I was thrilled to hear they wanted an engagement session in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, as I’ve shot sessions there only rarely despite the fact that I have lived next door to this neighborhood for over 12 years now and love the area. We met up at their place and then headed outside to walk around and hit some of their favorite spots (ice cream shoppe, rooftop bar, waterside park, etc) and found tons of cool spots to shoot along the way. Despite the fact that it wasn’t raining AT ALL that day we saw an amazing rainbow weirdly high in the sky so I had them lean over so I could capture the moment with them in the frame… It’s obviously a sign that these two are meant to be! These two have a fun and playful vibe and Chris never misses an opportunity to make Sarah laugh, it’s so great when I get to capture couples who aren’t shy about being goofballs together… one of my favorite moments from the shoot was when we walked past a big grafitti tag that read ‘the lurkers’ and they spontaneously started acting all ‘lurky’… just look at these two crazy kids in love, they’re great together! Can’t wait for the wedding in August… til then check out my favorites from the engagement shoot.
Jessie & Steve live in the city and planned a beautiful wedding weekend just a short drive up into the Hudson Valley where they enjoyed mountain views from The Garrison. I was delighted to get a chance to shoot at this wonderful venue again– I hadn’t been there since 2009 when I was super impressed with the tight ship they were running up there. To my delight, Todd is still in charge, and let me tell you that he is fantastically organized and wonderful to work with– the service and food at The Garrison was, just as I remembered, *absolutely fantastic*, so kudos to the venue! We started the day with coverage of the bride getting ready upstairs at The Garrison while the groom and his men put on their finishing touches and enjoyed a beer (and some World Cup coverage) at the charming bar downstairs. After a sweet first look I took the couple around for a round of portraits before meeting up with their wedding party and family for the group shots they’d listed for me. The weather was perfect and their ceremony overlooked a beautiful mountain-scape– it was gorgeous! Highlights of the reception included some emotional parent dances, a toast by one brave little ringbearer, and a particularly talented guest performing actual flips on the dance floor to everyone’s delight. I concluded the coverage with a few sunset portraits of the couple just outside the reception with the mountains in the distance. Congratulations, Jessie & Steve, it was a beautiful start to what is sure to be an amazing marriage!

Lynne & Mark planned a simple, warm, and elegant June wedding at The Palm House at Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. I have rarely seen a couple getting married beam and laugh this much, it was beautiful to behold– the laughter and warmth emanating from this couple during their portraits, ceremony, and reception was absolutely delightful and contagious. Their ceremony under a large willow tree was officiated by a friend and included readings from friends as well as the official signing of their marriage license, as well as meaningful vows written by the couple. Guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour around the lily ponds and then entered the Palm House for dinner and dancing. Everyone had a marvelous time and it showed! I was so pleased to be there to capture this gorgeous day– congratulations to Lynne & Mark! Here are some of my favorites from the wedding…

Seth & Jen had me shoot their wedding a few years ago at Housing Works Bookstore in SoHo. I was delighted to hear that they had started a family and wanted to do some baby portraits with me now that he was sitting up. For a location they chose to meet me at Bryant Park, which was a cool idea particularly because we had done a chunk of their engagement session in Bryant Park too! A bit of ‘before/after’ here though you’ll notice that Seth & Jen don’t look a day older than they did the day they got married! No doubt parenthood has changed their lives– it was so sweet getting to see their love for little Alex! Check out some of my favorites from our shoot…
