Vanessa contacted me about getting some portraits done with her family– she has two young boys, Samuel & Teddy, and they wanted to shoot in Central Park, one of my favorite settings for family shoots. We got a beautiful fall morning with lots of pretty leaves and the park wasn’t too crowded either. These boys shared some very cute smiles with me and they have a ton of personality! Check out my favorites from the shoot!
Gina & Jamie are getting married at The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls next September and for their engagement shoot they decided to have me join them in their favorite getaway-spot (and the site of their first meeting!) out on Long Island– the lovely town of Montauk. I was excited for this shoot (I’d never been to Montauk but knew from their descriptions it would offer some unique scenery!) and we got a lovely (if perhaps a little windy) afternoon out by the shore. After hitting some of the spots that had meaning for them (a favorite eatery) and taking advantage of a colorful fair going on in town we made our way to the Star Island Yacht Club where to my delight there was a giant replica of a great white shark hanging! Apparently this town was the inspiration for JAWS!!! After some shots on the docks there we drove to Montauk Point State Park (Free parking due to the government shutdown!) where there was a view of a lighthouse and a path down to a rocky beach with huge surf (and serious fishermen!). What a fun shoot we had! Check out my favorites and stay tuned for their wedding…
Love them all
Beautiful pictures
Noelle & Tim planned a fall wedding not far from New York City in lovely Garrison, NY at Highlands Country Club. I was thrilled when we arrived early to scout the grounds (they let us take a golf cart out!)– so much pretty stuff within range, I couldn’t wait to start shooting with the couple. Noelle had her hair and makeup done prior to arriving so I photographed her details and then on went the dress– Noelle and her mom both got emotional (in a happy way of course) and of course her father was thrilled to see her in it as well. We took Tim out to a pretty shaded area under a row of big pine trees and faced him away from the building so as to bring Noelle out for the first look… she snuck up and tapped him on the shoulder so he’d turn around! I love the shot of the hug that followed. After we went around for some portraits we met the wedding party and family for group shots back on the green next to the club and then got ourselves in place for the ceremony as guests started to arrive. The weather was so nice, at one point Tim commented that it was like they were having a summer wedding after all, and it’s true! I swear I’ve had the best luck with weather this year– crossing my fingers this luck continues! The pleasant temperature didn’t stop us from enjoying a fire in the fireplace (so cozy!) in the ballroom and guests enjoyed the intimate moonlit chairs around a firepit in the yard behind the club… Highlights of the evening included the beautiful, funny, and emotional toasts and of course their amazing SPARKLER EXIT! So much fun!!! Congratulations, Noelle & Tim, your wedding was so lovely!

You may remember Jaymie & Brad from their super-fun Coney Island engagement portraits! Well last weekend they finally got tie the knot and celebrate the occasion with all their family and friends out at Fresh Meadow Country Club just outside the city on Long Island. For me this was a larger-than-average wedding, tons of guests in black tie and yes, a BIG wedding party–is it just me or is this trending? Either that or I seem to have a niche with big wedding parties! We totally lucked out with the weather as it was the perfect temperature to ride around on golf carts and shoot portraits outside. We made the most of the beautiful grounds of the golf course and even got to take the couple down to a pretty little bridge a little ways away from the main buildings. When we returned we gathered the wedding party for their group shots outside nearby and then went in to do the family portraits in front of the lovely Chuppah prepared by Metro Floral Designs. I must say, these guys do great work– Jaymie’s bouquet of Spray roses, Ranculus and Panda Amenonies was to die for, and the variety of white orchid centerpieces were beautiful! After signing their Ketubah, Jaymie & Brad were ready for the big ceremony! From cocktail hour onwards this party was totally hopping. What a fun group of guests– the dance floor was extremely active all night with a great soundtrack provided by the musicians of New York City Swing… everyone had a marvelous time! Congratulations, Jaymie & Brad!!!

Having shot at a wonderful reception at The Belle Haven Club last year, I knew I’d be in for a real treat when Carrie & Brian booked me to photograph their September wedding at this beautiful Yacht Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. I was particularly excited to shoot a ceremony there (outdoors of course, water views!) since the last time I was up I didn’t see one of these. We started the coverage at Carrie’s parents home nearby and I arrived to find her and all these gorgeous bridesmaids in matching blue silk robes! What a wonderful gift for your gals and it made for some cute pictures of them out on the back porch after their hair and makeup was finished… Carrie got into her gown and veil and we were on our way to the club to meet the fellas. I got a little time with them before the ceremony and my assistants and I set up my open-air photobooth nice and early so it would be all ready for guests to take their own picture from the cocktail hour onwards… Highlights for me included the beautiful sunset sky (and yes, I totally pulled the couple out for a few quick shots– some of my favorites!), the sweet and hilarious toasts (I might have to steal one of the best man’s jokes to use at my brother’s wedding next summer!) some seriously wild dance-floor action (my favorite kind), and of course the couple’s grand exit by boat, during which everyone at the wedding lined up along a stone wall and watched them walk out on the dock and board a friends’ boat and ride off under the moonlight… All in all a fabulous wedding day! Congratulations to Carrie & Brian! My favorites are below…
