Kim and David had an intimate ceremony at the Queens Botanical Gardens on July 24th. They were joined by close family and friends and we followed their ceremony with a portrait session in the gardens and nearby in queens by the Unisphere and finished up with icees at the Lemon Ice King of Corona… It was a *very* hot day, high 90’s if not 100’s… anyway they were great to work with and I don’t know how he did it but David kept his Jacket on for the whole portrait session! These two work in architecture and share a passion for sightseeing–they’re off for an incredible honeymoon trip around the world visiting all the continents (Except antarctica) and visiting places they’ve always wanted to see. Congratulations, Kim and David!
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LR6bD00Rvg&hl=en_US&fs=1]Jessica is a skilled stilts-performer and actress (she was recently in a show in Greece, jealous?!) and needed some new headshots to show off her newly short hair… We met at my studio on an unpleasantly hot early evening and walked around outside (she was a trooper about the heat) after selecting the outfit and doing makeup prep. She was lots of fun to shoot with and we got some great stuff– I’m not sure which one of these I would pick to use if I were her but I’m sure she’ll know what to do. I *think* the last one i’m posting here is my favorite…
Julie and Andy are a fun young couple to be married later this summer in the Shakespeare Garden at Central Park. Julie just got out school for summer (let’s hear it for the teachers!) and Andy works in education too– from their facebook posts it sounds like they’ve been quite busy with some inspired home improvement projects, but they made time to shoot with me down in DUMBO not too far from where they live. It was a windy day and poor Julie had one of those painful ankle-wounds from when you just start wearing new shoes (for you men out there who don’t know, this is the WORST, especially in NYC where we women walk many many blocks every day) but she toughed it out and from the pictures you’d never know she was dealing with that dreaded every-step-hurts-a-little pain… These are some favorites, but there were lots of good ones. Congratulations, Andy and Julie! I can’t wait to shoot your wedding!
