Painting Portfolio shoot for Rachel Wren

My studio is in Long Island city in a building full of artists working in mediums like painting and sculpture… there are a few of us photographers in there but I do love being surrounded by fine artists, it’s quite inspiring. As one of the resident photographers I recently posted on the bulletin board to advertise my services as a portfolio shooter, and before I knew it Rachel Wren (a wonderful painter whose studio is right across the hall) was hitting me up to shoot her newest work for a grant application and use on her website…  After shooting her paintings on Saturday I convinced her to let me make a portrait of her… every artist should have a good shot of themselves with their work, don’t you think?
